Effective January 1st, 2024, Sherrexcia Rexy Rolle, Esq. is appointed as the President, CEO & Accountable Manager of Western Air, the largest privately owned airline in The Bahamas. Rexy, an Aviation & Corporate Attorney with 15+ years of airline experience, was previously the VP of Operations & General Counsel for the past 9+ years. As one of the few women in the industry, she joins the 8% of airline CEOs who are women. During her tenure, Rexy played a pivotal role in Western Air’s transition from turboprop to a uniform fleet of 9 Embraer ERJ 145- 50-seater jets. She also successfully launched new routes, including the airline’s inaugural US route between Nassau & Fort Lauderdale. Furthermore, Rexy led the opening of the Western Air Freeport Passenger Terminal in 2015 and skillfully managed its reopening after the challenges posed by Hurricane Dorian and the Covid-19 pandemic.

Capt. Rex Rolle, who has over 41+ years of aviation experience, had been serving as the President & CEO of the airline since its establishment over 23 years ago. However, he has now taken on the role of Chairman of the Board. Capt. Rolle, along with his wife and Co-Founder & COO, Shandrice Woodside, co-founded Western Air in September 2000. Despite the change in his position, Capt. Rolle will continue to play a part in guiding the company’s overall direction.

Rexy stated her focus on customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and the overall mission. Having witnessed the airline’s inception, she understands its origins and envisions untapped potential despite its current success. She emphasizes the importance of customers and their role in driving growth and innovation. However, the core mission remains unchanged: to deliver safe, high-quality, affordable, and efficient air service. The aim is to make travel hassle-free and enjoyable, which is why tickets can be used for a year without any fees for changes or cancellations. Rexy expresses gratitude to God and the dedicated team for their commitment to service. Recognizing that every individual plays a part, she considers it an honor to follow in her father’s footsteps in this family business.

The progress of our company relies on the evolution of leadership, and Western Air is excited to elevate our passengers to new heights.
