Global Tourism Ambassador | Africa–Europe Tourism Connector
Michelina Gabrie’ Sanquest is the Director and CEO of Globe Trotters Collection, a tour company dedicated to promoting sustainable and experiential travel across Africa. Her company specializes in travel to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Uganda, and Rwanda, with a strong focus on cultural exchange, nature, and responsible tourism.
Based in Rome for many years, Michelina built her career as a tour operator by actively promoting Eastern and Southern African destinations in the European market, particularly Italy. Through her work, she has played a key role in strengthening tourism ties between Africa and Europe.
She serves as a Goodwill Tourism Ambassador for Zambia in Italy, where she has consistently supported destination marketing and awareness initiatives. In addition, she has contributed to the promotion of Zimbabwe as a tourism destination on the Italian market through her role as a Goodwill Ambassador. Beyond Africa–Europe relations, Michelina has also been active in promoting Italian MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) opportunities in North America, helping to position Italy as a premier business events destination.
Michelina Gabrie’ Sanquest is also a Global Tourism Ambassador for the African Tourism Board (ATB), supporting its mission to unite Africa’s tourism voice, empower SMEs, and increase sustainable inbound travel to the continent.
Recently, she facilitated a notable reunion in Italy with the internationally respected American judge Frank Caprio, widely known from the television series “Caught in Providence.” The visit highlighted cultural roots, goodwill, and people-to-people connections—values that strongly align with Michelina’s approach to tourism diplomacy.
A particularly memorable milestone was the organization and support of Judge Frank Caprio’s visit to Italy from October 22 to 29, 2021, the land of his ancestors, coordinated by The Globe-Trotters SA Ltd under Michelina’s leadership.
Looking ahead, Michelina Gabrie’ Sanquest is actively involved in initiatives such as the
Africa – Europe Tourism Exchange Forum, taking place March 27–29, 2025, in Rome, aims to strengthen cooperation, investment, and sustainable tourism development between the two continents.
